The nearest metro station to Lajpat Nagar Market is the Lajpat Nagar Metro Station which falls on both Pink Line & Violet Line.  After you reach here, take the exit from gate No.2 which is closest to the Central Market.

LAXMBAI NAGAR

Laxmibai Nagar is a residential government colony located towards South of New Delhi, India.  The colony is named Laxmibai after the great queen "Rani Laxmibai" of Jhansi n UP who was a renowned freedom fighter.  Earlier, Laxmi Bai Nagar was called East Vinay Nagar.

Government accommodation here is allotted to Government Servants working in various departments and ministries of the Government of India by the Directorate of Estates, Ministry of urban Development.  There are a total of 1927 Flats in the category of Type II to Type IV although Type III flats are very less in number.  

The colony has a mother dairy for buying milk and other milk products, a Safal Outlet for fresh vegetables and a Kendriya Bhandar for buying household provisions.  There are a number of ATM machines in Laxmibai Nagar, SBI and HDFC ATM inside Metro station through only SBI is only operational at present.  Outside the gate of  Dilli Haat, there are two more ATMs, PNB and Canara Bank.

The colony also has a beautiful park known Sanjay Park where one can go for jogging or for a walk in the nature.

The colony is also connected with the Delhi Metro line, the station being the INA Metro Station.  One can take the metro from here and reach New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station and ISBT Kashmiri Gate without changing the train/ line.

Opposite to Laxmibai Nagar is the famousINA Market.   This market which is popular bothwith the locals as well as expats from the Diplomatic Enclave in Chanakyapuri, isfamous for its sea food and fish varieties besides mutton, chicken and othersuch stuff.

Delhi Haat

DilliHaat adjacent to Laxmibai Nagar and opposite to INA Market is a food and crafts bazaar.  The area has been designed togive it a rural/village haat look with brick floors and thatched roofs.   You feel as if you have arrived in a villagehaat or mela. However, unlike the traditional haat or weekly market in thevillages, 

Sarojini Market

Sarojini Nagar is located just 1 to2 kms walking distance from Laxmibai Nagar. Like Laxmibai Nagar, Sarojini Nagaris also primarily a Government residential colony but is one of the popular shoppingdestinations of South Delhi.  

Safdurjung Airport

Safdarjung Airport located near Laxmibai Nagar andINA Colony was established during the British Rule India and wasearlier known as Willingdon Airfield.

Parks.

The colony has a beautiful park known as Sanjay Park. The Park also has a beautiful manmade lake which unfortunately remains dry throughout the year due to water shortage.  There is a jogging track all along the park.  Children can also enjoy the swings and other rides which is in one corner of the park.  The park is well maintained with varieties of flowers and plants.  The beauty of the Park is to be seen in winters and springs to be believed.  On one side of the park near children's ride is also the NDMC Swimming Club for the benefit of public.  Entry is through membership only.  

Medical Facilities



Two of the biggest hospitals in Delhi ie Safdurjung Hospital and All India Institute of Sciences (AIIMS) are also located at a walking distance from this colony besides the Delhi Trauma Centre.
